an autumn evening with Sarah Siskind
Come spend an intimate autumn evening at Sunnyside, our sensory oasis in the mountains, as we welcome North Carolina singer-songwriter Sarah Siskind for a special live performance.
Steeped in Appalachian roots but never confined by genre, Sarah Siskind unapologetically shows up to sing her truth. Her songs have been recorded by artists including Robert Plant, Wynonna, Alison Krauss, and Randy Travis, and she has shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Paul Brady, The Swell Season, and Bon Iver.
More than 20 of Sarah's songs have been featured on the television series Nashville, including the beloved “A Life That’s Good.”
Her most recent album, Simplify, grew out of five years of profound personal and creative growth. Its title track reflects on the ongoing search for balance between career, motherhood, love, and a life with a little less running. The result is an emotional and unfiltered collection of songs that lets the beauty of an acoustic guitar and an honest voice take center stage.
NPR Music named Simplify one of the top five albums of its release date.
We're especially excited to welcome Sarah into the atmosphere of Sunnyside—a place created for slowing down, noticing, gathering, and experiencing something a little differently.
An Autumn Evening at Sunnyside
Our Sunnyside Open House (9am-2pm) will also be happening throughout the day, giving you a chance to wander, explore, and experience the space before settling in for an evening of music.
And because October evenings call for something warm and comforting, The Little Cheerful Airstream Kitchen will be serving a seasonal dinner menu available for purchase throughout the evening.
Think roasted pumpkin soup with autumn herbs and crusty bread, a hearty harvest bowl with roasted seasonal vegetables, grains, greens, and toasted seeds, and perhaps for dessert, we're dreaming of a rustic apple tart with cinnamon and autumn spices, served warm with vanilla ice cream.
The menu will be finalized and shared closer to the event, but the intention is simple: good food, beautiful music, a little mountain air, and an evening designed to slow you down.
Your $25 ticket includes:
An intimate live performance by Sarah Siskind
An opportunity to explore and experience Sunnyside
Dinner and dessert from The Little Cheerful Airstream Kitchen will be available for purchase separately.
Space is intentionally limited to 60 guests.
Come hungry. Come curious. Come ready to settle in.
Come wander Sunnyside, eat something warm, listen to a beautiful voice, and let the evening unfold.
